Today Sony Ericsson announced details of its new Xperia handset, the X1. The handset is a stand-out arc slider, aimed at users who expect a premium product with a focus on convergence.
The Xperia combines a 3 inch wide VGA display and a full QWERTY keyboard within a quality metal finish body. With the Xperia you can access a whole range of features, anytime, anywhere.
One of the biggest talking points about the Xperia X1 is it runs on Windows Mobile operating system. The phone supports WiFi and HSDPA, and also has GPS support. GPS is the main focus of a lot of handsets for the coming year, and the inclusion of GPS makes sure the Xperia is at the forefront of all the latest mobile technology.
Main navigation on the eXperia is done via the large panels on the main screen. These can be customised to allow you to access your favourite features in an instant. The keyboard of the Xperia slides out in a smooth arc movement, and is very easily used for the composition of emails and writing documents.
The Xperia marks something different for a Sony Erricson, and is expected to be launched in the second half of 2008
